About Our Institute

Established in 2018 under the visionary leadership of the Dayananda Sagar Institutions, Dr. Chandramma Dayananda Sagar Institute of Medical Education and Research (CDSIMER) has rapidly emerged as a center of excellence in medical education in Karnataka. Located in Bangalore, the Silicon Valley of India, our institute combines traditional medical wisdom with cutting-edge technology.

Spread across 25 acres of lush green campus, CDSIMER is affiliated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC), Government of India. Our 850-bed tertiary care teaching hospital serves as a clinical training ground while providing affordable healthcare to the community.

CDSIMER offers comprehensive medical education programs designed to meet global standards, with a curriculum that balances theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and research aptitude.

MBBS

A 5.5-year program (including 1-year internship) with annual intake of 150 students. Curriculum follows NMC guidelines with early clinical exposure, simulation-based learning, and community medicine rotations.

Our Pedagogy

Our curriculum follows an organ-system based integrated approach, combining basic sciences with clinical medicine from the first year. This horizontal and vertical integration ensures better understanding and retention of medical concepts. We employ problem-based learning (PBL) sessions, team-based learning (TBL), and case-based discussions to foster critical thinking.

The institute houses a state-of-the-art simulation center with high-fidelity manikins, virtual reality surgical simulators, and standardized patient programs. This allows students to practice procedures and develop clinical skills in a risk-free environment before encountering real patients.

From the first year itself, students are introduced to clinical settings through hospital visits, community health camps, and interactions with patients. This early exposure helps contextualize basic science learning and develop professional identity formation.

Community Health Initiatives

As part of our social responsibility, CDSIMER conducts regular health camps in rural and underserved areas of Karnataka. Our mobile medical units provide screening for diabetes, hypertension, cancer, and eye diseases. We have established telemedicine connections with 15 primary health centers in remote districts.
